The CNBJ-707 is a reliable and efficient quick go/no-go tester designed for automotive relays. It offers clear indication of the general health and functional status of the most common automotive relays, ensuring accurate and quick diagnostics. By connecting the tester to a car battery (11V-15V), it verifies the proper operation of relay contacts, analyzing pin configuration, timing for contact closure and opening, and overall consistency during testing cycles.
The device offers a straightforward interface, lighting a GREEN LED to signify successful tests, or a RED LED to indicate any issues detected.
- Connect the power leads to the car battery: black alligator clip to negative terminal and red alligator clip to positive terminal.
- The tester powers on when the RED LED illuminates.
- Select the relay type on the tester: "4 pin" for 4-pin relays, or "5 pin" for 5-pin relays, before plugging the relay into the tester.
- Insert the relay into one of the three receptacles on the tester.
- Press the "TEST" button to begin diagnostics.
- The tester evaluates the pin configuration and will light the RED LED if the relay does not match common automotive relay types or if pin damage is detected.
- If the configuration is correct, the tester performs 10 open and close cycles to assess the timing of contacts closure and opening, immediately indicating any delays with the RED LED.
- Consistency is checked throughout the cycles; a GREEN LED signals a successful test, while a RED LED highlights failure.
- Disconnect the power leads and remove the relay after testing.
- The car battery used for testing must be 12V with voltage within the 11V–15V range.
